Quanviction

Privacy.

Quanviction is operated by Ayush Gupta and Siddharth Tiwari ("we"). This page says what we collect when you use the page, why, who can see it and how long we keep it. It is short because there is little to say.

Just looking

We collect nothing when you only read the page. We use no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The page loads its fonts, pictures and data from its own address and asks no other website for anything, so no advertising or analytics company learns that you visited. Our host, Cloudflare, serves the page and, like any web host, sees the technical details of each request (your internet address, the time and the address asked for) in its own logs.

When you send a form

The "Request access" and "Suggest something" forms collect only what you type: for a request your name, work email, company or desk, role, the tools you are interested in and an optional message; for a suggestion its category, your text, an optional email and an optional tool. With each form we keep the date and time, and a one-way hash of your internet address. The hash cannot be turned back into the address. We use it to stop one connection from sending a flood of messages.

Why we use it

To read what you wrote, to reply to you, and (for a request) to decide about access. When you ask for access you tick a box to say we may contact you, and we send you one short thank-you. A suggestion sends no thank-you: if you give an email address with it, we use it only to reply to that suggestion. We do not use your details for anything else, and we do not sell or share them for marketing.

Who sees it

The two of us, Ayush Gupta and Siddharth Tiwari, who deal with requests. Two service providers handle the data for us and only for this purpose: Cloudflare (the hosting and the database that stores the forms) and our email delivery provider (which sends the message to us and, for an access request, the thank-you to you). If you choose to email us instead of using a form, your email program and mail provider handle that message as they do any other.

How long we keep it

Forms are deleted 24 months after you sent them. The records used to limit message floods are deleted after one day. The clean-up runs each time a new form arrives, so if nobody writes in for a while an old record can stay a little longer; to have yours deleted sooner, ask (see below).

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by using a form on the home page and saying so. We will reply to the address you give.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to other websites (for example S&P Dow Jones Indices' notices, news sources, and the tools' own sign-in). Those sites have their own privacy rules.
